Welcome to this week’s GLOW/RISE Weekly Update! We're excited to be getting closer to the start of another great year of learning, growing, and building faith together at Faith Lutheran!
As we begin a new school year, we’re praying for all our GLOW and RISE students, families, teachers, and school communities. We hope everyone is off to a great start and that this new year is filled with new friendships, exciting opportunities, and plenty of reasons to grow in faith.

Register Now! (GLOW - RISE - FLY)
Registration for the upcoming Confirmation and Education year is now available. Please take a few minutes to complete the registration forms as we begin planning for the year and ordering materials.

A few important reminders:
- Students in RISE and FLY have two different registrations to complete.
- All students completing registration must also complete the Media Release Form.
- Please complete registrations by August 31 so I can provide teachers with accurate and current classroom rosters.
- I will be reaching out to everyone to confirm their registrations.

Education Team Meeting | September 3 | 6:30 PM | Upper Room
This is our regularly scheduled Education Team meeting. We meet on the first Thursday of each month unless a previous meeting has determined otherwise.
Everyone is welcome to attend, whether you are currently serving on the Education Team, are one of our teachers, or are simply interested in learning more or getting involved.
We encourage all teachers to attend at least one meeting each half of the year (September–December and January–April).

Ignite the Light Sunday | September 13 | 10:00 AM
Students are encouraged to attend worship as we welcome everyone back for another education year!
Following worship, students will meet briefly in their classrooms for attendance and then head outside to the front of the church by approximately 10:15 AM. We will “Ignite the Light” with sparklers to signify the beginning of our new education year.
Once we are finished, teachers will dismiss students back to their parents.

Please plan to stay afterward and enjoy FLY's Sizzlin' Sunday BBQ Fundraiser! - CALENDAR LINK

Fire Department Tour | September 20 | 10:00 AM
Students will meet in their classrooms for attendance before we leave from the front of the church and walk to the fire station at approximately 10:05 AM.
Parents: If your student needs to be picked up right at 11:00 AM, please be aware that we will likely still be at the Fire Department. Last year, we were still there at that time. I would estimate that we will return to the church around 11:30 AM.

Confirmation Class | September 23 | 5:45 PM | Upper Room
We will provide a light supper for Confirmation students, including items such as cheese, crackers, sausage, vegetables, and other snacks.
If you would like to contribute something, please let me know what you are planning to bring so we can make sure we have a good variety and don't end up with too much of one item.
We also understand that sports schedules can make arrival difficult. If your student will be arriving late, that's okay—just let us know ahead of time.

GLOW/RISE Sunday School | September 27 | 10:00 AM | Education Classrooms
All students will have their regularly scheduled Sunday School classes.

1. Christmas Program Practice Begins | Sunday, October 4 | 6:00–7:00 PM
Christmas Program practices begin October 4. This first practice is for students with speaking parts only. More information about additional practices will be shared as we get closer to the program.
2. Trunk or Treat | Saturday, October 17
Get ready for a great night of fun! Our 8th graders will be organizing and putting on this year’s Trunk or Treat event. They’re excited to take the lead and create a fun experience for our church and community. More details coming soon!
3. First Communion Classes — 2nd Grade | Sundays, October 18 & 25 | 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM
Our 2nd graders will begin preparing for their First Communion through two special classes on October 18 and 25. More details will be shared with families as we get closer.
