FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When and why did this Fund start?
On March 1, 1998, an Endowment Fund was created where bequests in wills, charitable giving and other trusts, charitable gift annuities, assignment of life insurance, and transfers of property (cash, stocks, bonds, cash resulting from the sale of
real estate or personal property) of any amount may be designated. The purpose of the Fund is to enhance the benevolent mission of this congregation. The earnings from these funds shall be available for disbursement.
There are many meaningful ways to support the Endowment Fund. Gifts may be made at any time through cash donations, appreciated securities, real estate, life insurance, charitable trusts, bequests through a will, or other planned gifts. Donors may choose to contribute to the General Endowment Fund or to one of the established restricted funds. Every gift, regardless of size, helps build a lasting legacy that supports Faith Lutheran Church's mission for generations to come.

How can I donate towards the Fund?
A gift to Faith Lutheran Church's Endowment Fund is an investment in the future of our ministry. Unlike annual giving, endowment gifts are invested so they can continue generating support for years to come. Your generosity helps provide scholarships, strengthen Christian education, expand outreach, support mission work, improve our facilities, and fund ministries that reach beyond our annual operating budget. Whether given in memory of a loved one, as part of an estate plan, or as a legacy gift, your donation creates a lasting impact that will continue to share Christ's love with future generations
What funds are available, and what can they be used for?
Faith Lutheran Church's Endowment Fund is available to support a variety of individuals, ministries, and organizations whose requests align with the mission and purpose of the Fund. Applications may be submitted by members of Faith Lutheran Church, church committees and ministry teams, nonprofit organizations, and ELCA-related ministries. The Fund has its own bylaws. How does that work?
The Endowment Fund operates under its own set of bylaws, which provide clear guidance for how gifts are received, invested, managed, and distributed. These bylaws ensure that all donations are stewarded responsibly and according to the donor's intent. An elected Endowment Board oversees the Fund, reviews all applications, and makes funding decisions based on established criteria. The bylaws also protect the Fund by preserving the principal whenever possible, allowing grants to be awarded primarily from investment earnings so the Fund can continue supporting ministry for generations to come.
