November 30, 2025 Worship Service

Nov 30, 2025    Dr. Roger Keller

Welcome to worship on this First Sunday of Advent. Today we begin the season of waiting and anticipation by lighting the Candle of Hope and turning our hearts toward the promise of Christ’s coming. Advent reminds us that hope is more than optimism—it is the deep assurance that God is present, active, and faithful, even in uncertain times. We are grateful to welcome Dr. Roger Keller as our guest preacher as he helps us enter this season with thoughtful reflection and expectation. The Faith Choir, directed by Kathy B, also leads us in music that prepares our spirits for the journey ahead.

Our readings today call us to walk in God’s light, to seek peace, and to stay awake to the presence of Christ in our everyday lives. From Isaiah’s vision of a world where weapons become tools for growth, to Paul’s invitation in Romans to “put on the armor of light,” we are reminded that Advent shapes how we live right now. In the Gospel from Matthew, Jesus urges us to be ready and watchful, trusting that God’s promises unfold in God’s perfect timing.

As we enter this holy season together, we remember that God meets us in our waiting with hope, comfort, and new possibility. Thank you for joining us online today. May this service draw you nearer to Christ and fill your heart with the hopeful expectation of Advent.
