GLOW/RISE Weekly Update - 09.14.26
WHAT A GREAT START!
A huge thank-you to all of our GLOW and RISE students, families, and teachers who joined us last Sunday as we officially kicked off our new education year! It was wonderful to see everyone back together and to begin another year of learning, growing, building friendships, and growing in faith.

We had a great time celebrating with our Ignite the Light kickoff! After gathering in our classrooms, we came together as one GLOW/RISE community and enjoyed lighting our sparklers together. It was a fun and memorable way to start the year—and a great reminder that we are called to let God's light shine through us!

Thank you to everyone who helped make our first Sunday such a great beginning. We are excited for all that this new year has in store!

BIBLE PRESENTATION THIS SUNDAY
This Sunday during worship, we will celebrate a special milestone for some of our GLOW and RISE students during our Bible Presentation.

Our Pre-K, 3rd Grade, and 6th Grade students will be receiving their own Bibles as they continue their faith journey and grow in their understanding of God's Word.

Students who are receiving a Bible should have received an email invitation with additional information about participating in the service. Everyone is welcome to join us for this special worship service as we celebrate these students and this important step in their faith journey!

THIS SUNDAY: MARSHFIELD FIRE DEPARTMENT TOUR
This Sunday, our GLOW and RISE students will have a special opportunity to take a tour of the Marshfield Fire Department!

Students should come dressed appropriately for the tour and for being around the fire station and equipment. We will leave as soon as attendance is completed, so please make sure students are ready to go when class begins.

We expect to return to church at approximately 11:30 AM for pickup.

FIELD TRIP REMINDER: In order for your student to participate in the Fire Department tour, a parent/guardian must be present with them OR a completed permission slip must be signed and returned. Students without a parent/guardian present or a signed permission slip will not be able to participate in the tour.

We are looking forward to this fun opportunity to learn more about our local firefighters, the important work they do in our community, and how they help keep others safe!

We can't wait to see everyone Sunday!
Learn Together • Grow in Faith • Share God’s Love

Fire Department Tour | September 20 | 10:00 AM
Students will meet in their classrooms for attendance before we leave from the front of the church and walk to the fire station at approximately 10:05 AM.

Parents: If your student needs to be picked up right at 11:00 AM, please be aware that we will likely still be at the Fire Department. Last year, we were still there at that time. I would estimate that we will return to the church around 11:30 AM.

FIELD TRIP REMINDER: In order for your student to participate in the Fire Department tour, a parent/guardian must be present with them OR a completed permission slip must be signed and returned. Students without a parent/guardian present or a signed permission slip will not be able to participate in the tour.

ADD TO CALENDAR
Confirmation Class | September 23 | 5:45 PM | Upper Room
We will provide a light supper for Confirmation students, including items such as cheese, crackers, sausage, vegetables, and other snacks.

If you would like to contribute something, please let me know what you are planning to bring so we can make sure we have a good variety and don't end up with too much of one item.

We also understand that sports schedules can make arrival difficult. If your student will be arriving late, that's okay—just let us know ahead of time.

ADD TO CALENDAR

Christmas Program | Practice Begins October 4
Christmas Program practices begin Sunday, October 4, from 6:00–7:00 PM.

We are excited to begin preparing for this year's Christmas Program, which will be held on Saturday, December 19 at 4:00 PM, with a potluck dinner following the program.

Speaking Parts
The October 4 practice will be specifically for students who have speaking parts in the Christmas Program. Additional practices will be scheduled as we get closer to the program, and more information about those practices will be shared with families.

We are strongly encouraging students in grades 3–5 to consider taking a speaking part. These roles are a great opportunity for students to be involved, grow in confidence, and help share the Christmas story with our congregation.

Confirmation students are also welcome and encouraged to participate! If a confirmation student would like to have a speaking part, we would be excited to have them involved. Confirmation students who participate will also be able to receive service hours for their involvement in the Christmas Program.

If your student is interested in having a speaking part, please reach out to Justin so we can get them connected and make sure they receive the information they need.
Christmas Program: Saturday, December 19
Program: 4:00 PM
Potluck: Following the program
First Speaking-Part Practice: Sunday, October 4 | 6:00–7:00 PM

We'd love to have our GLOW and RISE students be part of making this year's Christmas celebration special!

Blessing of the Animals
Our annual Blessing of the Animals is coming up on Sunday, October 4, and we’d love for everyone in our Faith Lutheran family to participate!

Do you have a pet that you would like to share with the congregation? Send us a photo of your pet along with their name and breed, and we’ll include them in a special slideshow during worship on October 4.

This year, we will not be holding the Blessing of the Animals outdoors, so please do not bring your pets to worship. Instead, we’ll celebrate them through the photos you send in, giving our whole congregation an opportunity to see and celebrate the animals that are special to our families.

Whether you have a dog, cat, bird, rabbit, horse, or another beloved companion, we want to see them! We encourage everyone to participate and help us make this a joyful celebration of God’s creatures and the many ways they bring love and happiness into our lives.

Questions? Please reach out—we’d be happy to help!
Send your pet’s photo, name, and breed to familyed@faithmarshfield.com OR office@faithmarshfield.com by September 27th.
GLOW Host of the Day - Sign Up Now!
Help make Sunday mornings welcoming and run smoothly!
We are looking for volunteers to serve as a GLOW Host of the Day throughout the upcoming year. This is a simple but important way to support our GLOW families, teachers, and volunteers each Sunday.

As a GLOW Host, you may:
  • Welcome students and families as they arrive.
  • Assist with student check-in and check-out.
  • Help teachers with printing, copying, or gathering materials.
  • Help gather supplies teachers may need during the morning.
  • Provide general support in the Education Office.
The commitment is flexible! You can sign up for just one Sunday or choose to help on multiple Sundays throughout the year.

We're looking for friendly, organized individuals who enjoy helping others and creating a welcoming environment for children, families, and volunteers.

A small role that makes a big difference in helping our Sunday mornings run smoothly!

Interested in helping? Sign Up Now or reach out to Justin with questions.
