FLY Weekly Update | A Big October Ahead! | 09-28-2026
October is here, and there is a lot happening with FLY! After a great start to our first Youth Night, we are excited to keep building momentum and giving our students opportunities to have fun, grow in faith, serve others, and build friendships.
Here are a few important things coming up that we want students and families to have on their calendars:
October 3 — Kiwanis K.E.E.P. at the Marshfield Fairgrounds
We have an opportunity to serve with Kiwanis and help at the Marshfield Fairgrounds. Please be sure to sign up for a time slot if you are able to participate. Every helping hand makes a difference!
October 4 — Our First FLY Time!
This Sunday will be our first FLY Time, and we are excited to get together! Come ready to Follow Jesus • Build Friendships • Make a Difference as we begin building this regular time together.
October 10 — FLY Youth Night at Marshfield Escape Room
We're planning another Youth Night and heading to the Marshfield Escape Room! The deadline to register is October 2, so make sure you get signed up if you want to join us, sign up by emailing me. Students attending will be asked to cover half of the cost of the event.
If you would like to use funds you have earned through FLY serve and earn fund to help cover your portion, please reach out to me and we can take care of that.
2027 FLY Mission Trip Update — Denver, Colorado!
The votes are in, and at this time our 2027 mission trip destination will be Denver, Colorado! We are excited to begin planning for this next opportunity to serve and make a difference together.
If you are interested in participating in the 2027 mission trip, first-round registration is due by October 31.
Knowing how many students are interested in going will be an important part of the planning process. It will help our adult leaders determine how many adults will be needed to go with us and allow us to begin working through the details of the trip.
If you are considering going, please make sure you complete the first-round registration by October 31. You can find more information about this year's mission trip below, including additional details about the trip and what to expect.
There is a lot ahead for FLY, and we're excited to continue growing this ministry together.

FLY Advisory Team Meeting | October 14 | 5:30 PM | Upper Room
FLY Advisors will gather to review recent events, discuss what’s coming up, and talk through upcoming opportunities for our youth ministry. Anyone interested in learning more about the FLY Advisory Team is welcome to sit in on a meeting, ask questions, or consider joining the team!

United Way Make a Difference Day | October 24 | Quilt Loading & Fall Cleanup
On Saturday, October 24, FLY will be gathering to help with two important service projects at Faith.
Quilt Loading — 8:30 AM
We will be helping the Piece Corps load their truck with quilts. The more hands we have, the quicker we can get the job done!
After the quilts are loaded, we'll turn our attention to some fall cleanup around the church, including:

- Trimming weeds
- Trimming bushes
- Cleaning out window wells
- Picking up garbage
- Other outdoor cleanup projects
FLY 2027 Mission Trip — Denver, CO | October 31
The destination has been chosen! After collecting input from our youth and families, Denver, Colorado will be the destination for our 2027 FLY Mission Trip.
Now that we know where we’re going, our next step is determining who will be joining us and beginning the planning process for the trip.
October 31 — First Commitment Deadline
October 31 is our first commitment deadline for the 2027 Mission Trip.
If you are a youth or adult who is interested in participating, please let me know by October 31. At this point, you are not being asked to make every final commitment or payment—you are simply letting us know that you are interested in going so we can include you in our initial participant count.
This first count is important because it will help us determine:
We will also be looking for adults who are interested in serving as leaders for the 2027 Mission Trip.

Once we have an initial list of interested adults, we will have an individual conversation with each person to talk through the trip, expectations, responsibilities, and what serving as a leader will look like.

Once we have our initial participant and adult leader numbers, we will be able to continue working through the details of the trip, including registration, transportation, lodging, fundraising, and other planning needs.
