This Week’s Reflection

IGNITE THE LIGHT SUNDAY began with the congregation singing "Lift High the Cross" as the processional cross was carried down the aisle. We welcomed back Puppets of Faith as Kenny and Mr. Goodman introduced the theme of forgiveness from our Gospel reading (Matt 18:21-35). When Peter asks Jesus how many times he should forgive his neighbor, Jesus tells Peter to forgive his neighbor 77 times (or 70x7 times). This number suggests that we are to forgive those who offend us endlessly — there is no set number of times we should forgive others. Jesus' parable of the unforgiving servant indicates that because God has forgiven us, we should extend that same grace and mercy to those who offend us. Our worship service concluded with children playing instruments to the song "We are Marching in the Light of God." Following the worship service, the children gathered outdoors to light sparklers and Faith Lutheran Youth (FLY) served a delicious meal outdoors of pulled pork/chicken. Kids and adults alike enjoyed the Bounce House and everyone appreciated the opportunity to use the new green space.

GLOW/RISE Registration 2026 - 2027 Registration Begins!

Help us prepare for another exciting year of faith, learning, and fellowship by completing your child's GLOW (Pre-K–5th Grade) or RISE (6th–8th Grade Confirmation) registration.

Registering early helps us plan classrooms, order curriculum and supplies, communicate important information, and ensure we have current emergency and medical information for every student.

FLY Registration 2026 - 2027 Registration Begins!

Calling all students in grades 7–12! FLY (Faith Lutheran Youth) is getting ready for another year of faith, friendship, fun, service, and adventure!

FLY gives students a place to connect with friends, grow in their relationship with God, serve our community, and be part of something bigger. Throughout the year, we’ll have youth gatherings, Bible study, service opportunities, special events, fundraisers, and mission experiences.

Registration is now open! Even if your student has participated in FLY before, please complete a new registration so we have the most current information for the upcoming year.

Kick off a new year of FLY with an evening filled with games, snacks, laughs, and plenty of fun! Come hang out, reconnect with friends, meet new people, and get the year started together. We’ll have some fun surprises along the way, too!

Blessing of the Animals

Our annual Blessing of the Animals is coming up on Sunday, October 4, and we’d love for everyone in our Faith Lutheran family to participate!

Do you have a pet that you would like to share with the congregation? Send us a photo of your pet along with their name and breed, and we’ll include them in a special slideshow during worship on October 4.

This year, we will not be holding the Blessing of the Animals outdoors, so please do not bring your pets to worship. Instead, we’ll celebrate them through the photos you send in, giving our whole congregation an opportunity to see and celebrate the animals that are special to our families.

Whether you have a dog, cat, bird, rabbit, horse, or another beloved companion, we want to see them! We encourage everyone to participate and help us make this a joyful celebration of God’s creatures and the many ways they bring love and happiness into our lives.

Small Group Opportunities

FALL FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITIES: Please sign-up in the Gathering Area for one (or more) of the following opportunities to get to one another better this fall....
Men’s Group – Are there any men who are interested in getting together once-a-month for breakfast and Devotions/Bible study?
German Baking – Last year we had a successful Scandinavian Baking event on a Saturday morning that was led by three Faith Lutheran members. This year we have had a request to try a German Baking event. (Black Forest Chocolate Cake or Feffernuts, anyone?)
Dinner Groups – For the past 2 years, we have had several “Dinner for 8” groups meet periodically for food, fellowship and reflection. In fact, some groups are still meeting! This is an opportunity to meet fellow worshippers in a relaxed setting and make new friends.

GLOW Host of the Day - Sign Up Now!

Help make Sunday mornings welcoming and run smoothly!
We are looking for volunteers to serve as a GLOW Host of the Day throughout the upcoming year. This is a simple but important way to support our GLOW families, teachers, and volunteers each Sunday.

As a GLOW Host, you may:

Welcome students and families as they arrive.
Assist with student check-in and check-out.
Help teachers with printing, copying, or gathering materials.
Help gather supplies teachers may need during the morning.
Provide general support in the Education Office.

The commitment is flexible! You can sign up for just one Sunday or choose to help on multiple Sundays throughout the year.

We're looking for friendly, organized individuals who enjoy helping others and creating a welcoming environment for children, families, and volunteers.

A small role that makes a big difference in helping our Sunday mornings run smoothly!
