FLY Weekly Update | Great First Youth Night & What's Ahead! | 09-21-2026
What a great first night of FLY Youth Nights! Thank you to everyone who came out and helped us get things started. Every ministry has to start somewhere, and we did just that! Now we can continue building on it and make our Youth Nights something our students look forward to each month.
We started the night with Light Up Pickleball in the Fellowship Hall, followed by some pool in the Youth Room, supper, a movie, and plenty of conversation. We also spent some time talking about our next mission trip and upcoming FLY events.
We're excited to keep building relationships, having fun, serving others, and growing together!
FOLLOW JESUS • BUILD FRIENDSHIPS • MAKE A DIFFERENCE

K.E.E.P. — the Kiwanis Enormous Equipment Playground — is happening from 10:00 AM–4:00 PM!
Help us make this an awesome event for the kids by volunteering with FLY! There are several ways to help throughout the weekend, and youth who volunteer can earn money toward their FLY Serve & Earn Fund.
Come serve, have some fun, and help make K.E.E.P. an incredible experience for kids in our community!

Join us from 10–11 AM for a time to connect, laugh, grow in faith, and simply be yourself. Whether you’ve been coming to FLY for years or this is your first time, you’re welcome here!

How to get there: Enter through the north stairway near the main entrance, then head straight.
Come ready for great conversation, fun, faith, and maybe even a little friendly competition! Bring your energy, your questions, and your friends.
We can’t wait to see you at FLY!

United Way Make a Difference Day | October 24 | Quilt Loading & Fall Cleanup
On Saturday, October 24, FLY will be gathering to help with two important service projects at Faith.
Quilt Loading — 8:30 AM
We will be helping the Piece Corps load their truck with quilts. The more hands we have, the quicker we can get the job done!
After the quilts are loaded, we'll turn our attention to some fall cleanup around the church, including:

I’m beginning to gauge interest in attending the next ELCA Youth Gathering. This event brings together thousands of Lutheran youth from across the country for worship, service, learning, music, and fellowship.
At this point, I’m simply looking to see how much interest there is—this is not a commitment.

FLY 2027 Mission Trip — Help Choose Our Destination!
At last week’s FLY Advisory Team meeting, we began laying out the timeline for our 2027 FLY Mission Trip. One of the biggest decisions we need to make is where we’re going!

September 30 — Mission Trip Destination
September 30 is our deadline for choosing the destination for our 2027 mission trip.
We want our youth and families to have a voice in this decision. If you would like to help, choose where we go, please send me your top three choices from the options below — or explore the additional opportunities through the links provided and suggest another destination.

October 31 — Mission Trip Commitment Deadline
Once our destination has been selected, October 31 will be the first commitment deadline for youth and adults to commit to participating in the 2027 mission trip.
These are two of the biggest dates on our mission-trip calendar right now, so please take a few minutes to explore the options and share your thoughts.
