GLOW/RISE Weekly Update - 10.05.26
GLOW & RISE | THIS WEEK
We are continuing to have a great start to our GLOW & RISE program year! Each week, it has been wonderful to see our students learning, growing, building friendships, and being part of the life of Faith Lutheran Church.
There is a lot happening this month, and we are excited for what is ahead!
Christmas Program Practices Have Begun!
Our GLOW Christmas Program practices began this past Sunday, October 4, and we are excited to officially begin our journey toward this year’s Christmas celebration!
This year, our Christmas program will take us on a journey through Christmas Past, Christmas Present, and Christmas Future.
Students will be sharing the Christmas story through speaking parts, music, and more, and we are excited to see how everything comes together.
There is a lot of work that goes into putting a Christmas program together, and our students will be putting in plenty of time and effort over the next several weeks. We are so proud of them already and can't wait to see where all of their hard work takes us!
Students in grades 3–5 who are participating in the reading portions should plan to attend all Sunday evening practices.
Students who are not participating in the reading portions will still have an important part in the program through the music, which will be practiced during our regular GLOW time.
RISE Confirmation students who would like to help with the Christmas program are also welcome to participate. Students who attend will have the opportunity to earn service hours.
We are looking forward to watching this program take shape over the next several weeks!
Offering During Music
On Sunday, we also began passing the offering basket during our music time.
Having our students participate in offering is a simple way to help them learn about generosity, stewardship, and how even a small gift can make a difference.
This fall, our GLOW offerings will continue to support Paisley Paws, helping our students see how their gifts can make a difference beyond our church walls.
If your child needs envelopes, please let me know and I would be happy to get some to you. RISE Confirmation students will give their envelopes in their classrooms.
Family Spotlight Sunday
We are continuing our Spotlight Sundays this year, but instead of having entire classes participate together, we are inviting families to serve together during Sunday worship.
Families can participate in several different ways, including:
This is a great opportunity for families to serve together and for kids to see firsthand that they have an important place in the life of our church.
Please let me know when your family would like to participate or sign up on the clipboard on Sundays. If you have questions about how it works, please reach out. We would be happy to help find a way for your family to serve!
